21 November 2018

Candriam publishes on its website:

“Candriam announces the appointment of Derek Brander as Head of UK Distribution, based in London. Derek was previously UK Wholesale Director at Candriam. Established in 2012, London has become an increasingly important and growing centre for Candriam, with important portfolio management functions including the EM debt team, consultant relations and an increased headcount of more than 20 employees. Elizabeth Para and Adrian Sharpe, who both report to Derek Brander, lead the UK institutional and wholesale drive respectively.

Commenting on the appointment, Renato Guerriero, Global Head of Distribution, said: “As an asset manager with a long term focus, Candriam firmly believes in the importance of sustainable investing, which has been at the heart of our business for more than 20 years. It is very rewarding to see that over the years the UK investors’ appetite has also evolved towards more ESG focused products. Being supported by a triple A non-listed insurance parent, we stay committed to the UK market and we are well geared to further deepen and expand our customer relations here in the UK under the strong leadership and client dedication Derek has demonstrated with us.”

Derek Brander: “I have witnessed and been delighted that the Candriam brand is getting more and more attention from the Wholesale market in the UK over the past few years. Our products and services are aligned with the ESG focus the UK finally seems to be adopting so there’s currently high demand for our services. Our objective is to continue to deliver a best in class service to our clients and the best investment solutions tailored to their needs.”

Derek Brander has almost 20 years of experience in the asset management business. Prior to joining Candriam in 2016, he was director of UK Wholesale at Natixis and has also worked as a Sales Manager at GLG Partners, SGAM, AEGON and First State Investments.”
