Plumbing Pensions examines the structure and function of the Trustee Board

4 September 2020

Plumbing & Mechanical Services (UK) Industry Pension Scheme publishes on its website:

“The Trustee Board and the three Constituent Organisations (Unite the Union, SNIPEF and the APHC) that oversee the Scheme have agreed to carry out a review of its governance structures. The Trustee Board has appointed an independent governance consultant, Pi Consulting (UK) Ltd (“Pi Consulting”) to help.

The aim of the governance review is to:

  • Deliver an effective employer representation model.
  • Examine the structure and function of the Trustee Board.

A working group has been set up to oversee the project. Key stages include information gathering, online questionnaire, individual and group interviews, reporting to the Trustee & Constituent Organisations and consultation with all the Scheme’s employers and members.

Kate Yates, Chief Executive of Plumbing Pensions UK, says: “I am looking forward to working with Pi Consulting on this project. The current governance structure has served the Scheme well in the past, but we believe the time is right to review what the Scheme needs for the future. This will ensure it continues to serve employers and members in the most effective and efficient ways possible.”

Alan Pickering, Trustee Chairman said: “I am pleased the Trustee and the Constituent Organisations have agreed to move forward with a governance review to future-proof the Scheme and enable us to enhance and improve our processes and ways of working.”
